On June 1, 2023, legal provisions restricting the processing of biometric data only within EBS came into force. Povolotsky emphasized that consent to the use of data in the system can be revoked from the central bank operator, and deletion of biometric information is possible through a personal account in the State Services.

He also stated that the use of various biometric methods, additional protective factors and vitality technologies increases the level of system security. Povolotsky talked about plans to introduce palm scanning for contactless payments, but noted that this step would only be possible with high authentication accuracy.

The CEO of the Central Bank says that thanks to the use of various methods and additional protective mechanisms, EBS ensures the reliability and safety of user actions.
