MTS announced the launch of new solutions to combat telephone scammers – anti-fraud platforms.

It allows banks to receive early warnings of suspicious activity based on nearly 100 different factors. The operator claims that the accuracy of identifying fraudulent activities increases by 45%.

The system’s algorithms are based on machine learning. They also mark the numbers of bank subscribers who are subject to telephone fraud.

The platform is currently being tested in several banks. Each client analyzes two models to demonstrate a victim of social engineering:

the first profiles him based on his actions, using ten different attributes

the second analyzes for the first time the flow of events, calls, SMS and other user actions, identifying patterns that scammers use

Over the past few years, we have made progress in developing anti-fraud solutions. If recently such systems could only take into account a few factors, such as, for example, replacement numbers, now we train algorithms on hundreds of different indicators, and their number continues to grow.

All this gives banks the opportunity to receive the most accurate information. In the future, we will not only consider the solution as an external product, but also implement it into our mobile network to protect subscribers.

According to the Central Bank, in 2023, the volume of funds declared by fraudsters increased to 15.8 billion rubles, which is 11.5% more than in 2022.

The service developed by the Big Data MTC Scoring team allows banks to significantly reduce the number of fraudulent cases. This applies to processing loans and funds, as well as the theft of customer credit data using social engineering methods.
