The study was published in the journal Electrochimica Acta. The authors of the paper are postdoctoral Caio Vinicius da Silva Almeida and Professor Lucia Elena Mascaro from the Federal State University of San Carlos (UFSCar).

The catalysts were prepared by electroplating, which is simple and inexpensive. They are proven to be efficient, stable and durable. These results open prospects for the use of simple and inexpensive catalysts in ammonia production and the synthesis of amorphous materials for nitrogen fixation.
