Scientists have been working on nanomaterials for 20 years and have created a new way to grow silicon carbide on silicon. This method makes it possible to obtain high-quality layers of materials, superior to analogues of world companies, the press service noted.

The study was carried out in partnership with scientists from several Russian universities and with the support of the New Technologies company. The new method differs from previous ones in that the nanotubes grow from the top down rather than the bottom up.

This discovery could significantly reduce the cost of producing nanotubes and expand their range of applications. The materials can be used in medicine to create sensors, gas sensors, and implants.
