The court considered the claim of several media companies. EGEDA, Mediaset España, A3 Media and Movistar Plus accused the messenger of distributing pirated material.

Telegram did not provide the necessary information at the request of the court. On this basis, the decision was made to temporarily block the application. Additional investigation is planned.

Currently, however, the courier continues to operate in the country.

In early 2023, a similar case occurred in Brazil. On April 26, a Brazilian court decided to block Telegram after the messenger was found to be providing information about members of the channel who could be involved in an attack on a school in Aracruz, in which four people died. The decision was later revoked.
