This is twice as much as GDDR6 and 43% more than GDDR7, which Samsung showed at the same fair.
Along with the record-breaking frequency, Hynix’s GDDR7 can accommodate up to 24GB, which is equivalent to 3GB per chip. This will allow video card manufacturers to create devices with more memory using fewer chips.
It is not yet known when GDDR7 at 40 GHz will be available to consumers. Most likely, this will not happen until the next generation of video cards.
But it is already clear that the technology has enormous potential. It can significantly increase the performance of video cards and make games more realistic and colorful.
