The Institute of Statistical Research and Information Economics of the National Research University Higher School of Economics has published a new collection of statistics called “Innovation Activity Indicators”. It explains how innovation is developing and what trends are visible in this field. The overall innovation activity of large and medium-sized companies in Russia amounted to 11% in 2022, which is slightly higher than in previous years.
The highest level of innovation is observed in the manufacturing industry, where approximately 20% of companies are innovative. Russian companies invest more than 2.7 trillion rubles in innovation, and more than half of these funds consist of companies’ own funds. It is important to remember that user demand also plays an important role in stimulating the production of innovative goods and services.
The increase in software and database development investments, which indicate the modernization of information systems and business processes, is also noteworthy. In general, innovation is becoming an increasingly important element of the economy, contributing to the development of various industries and increasing the competitiveness of Russian companies.
