Sergei Babich, organizer of the international music industry forum Colisium, noted that losses from the complete cancellation of “several hundred” concerts and theater performances in the capital have already reached between 250 and 350 million rubles.

Experts and market participants found it difficult to assess the long-term financial losses of the concert industry. Now the organizers are negotiating with venues about future cancellations or postponements of concerts, said Mikhail Shurygin, general director of the NCA group of companies.

After the terrorist attack, demand for entertainment events will decrease by approximately 30% in the medium term, according to MTC Live. It is estimated that in the next two weeks the number of visitors to concerts in the Base and Arbat21 clubs will decrease by 70%.

  • The terrorist attack occurred on the afternoon of March 22 at the Crocus Town Hall (Krasnogorsk), where a concert by the rock group Picnic was going to take place. In total, the Crocus hall can accommodate 7,200 people, as its rock group on VKontakte previously reported on the sold-out crowd.
  • On March 22, the Ministry of Culture announced the cancellation of massive events in federal cultural institutions in the “coming days.” The same measures were taken regarding all mass events in Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Moscow region and other Russian regions.
