This update includes a new setting that lets you choose how apps behave when you turn off your Pixel Fold. At this time, turning off the phone completely disables the app. In DP2 you have three options: either keep the current behavior where the app stops when folded, or the app continues to run on the external display regardless of folding, and the third option allows you to make decisions on a case-by-case basis. Just swipe up on the external display after minimizing to keep the app running.

This feature is not completely new. The foldable OnePlus Open and some past Oppo models also have a similar feature. However, it wasn’t on bare Android.
