At the end of 2023, the volume of the online advertising market in Russia amounted to 634.9 billion rubles and the number of advertisers reached 1.2 million, writes TASS citing data from Roskomnadzor.

Since September 2022, the Unified Internet Advertising Registry (ERIR) has been in force, where market participants are obliged to transfer information.
The department’s press service reported that at the end of last year, the volume of budgets entered in the register and spent by online advertisers amounted to 634.9 billion rubles (VAT included).
During last year, 1,209 million advertisers and more than 5.7 thousand agencies registered with the ERIR. Also in the register there are more than 48.1 thousand advertising system operators and advertising distributors according to the results of 2023.
In addition, the system has recorded more than 28 billion advertising creatives, more than 2 billion active advertising creatives (that were displayed on the Internet) and more than 23 billion advertising message impressions.
On September 1 last year, fines were imposed on advertisers and distributors of advertising content for failing to provide advertising information to the RKN. Liability also applies for untimely transmission of data or the provision of incomplete or inaccurate information.
