Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and Russian Cancer group of companies have agreed to work together. They want to create new nutritional supplements from crab shells. This became possible thanks to the strategic project “Life Sciences: Biomedicine” of the Priority 2030 program.

Crab shell contains polysaccharides that may be useful in medicine. To do this, the ways in which this material can be used must be expanded. The important thing is to make the crab harvesting process as efficient and waste-free as possible to save valuable resources.

The Priority 2030 program started at FEFU in 2021. During this time, scientists together with companies have developed 23 products that are currently used in various fields such as medicine and biotechnology.
