The task of the new laboratory will be to specialize and develop the advanced technologies of 3D modeling and SLM printing. The Russian 3D printer manufacturer 3DLAM company, which uses selective laser melting technology, is acting as the industrial partner of NRNU MEPhI in this project.

In addition to providing access to advanced metal 3D printing technologies, the laboratory will develop application software and increase engineering competencies in the field of 3D modeling.

The creation of a new laboratory will allow university students and staff to better understand the potential of 3D modeling and create prototypes of products with high strength and complex geometries.
