According to the press service of the university, scientists have created a powder that, when added to paint and varnish compositions, gives materials shiny properties. This method promises to be simpler and more cost-effective than those used before.
Andrey Mostovshchikov, Director of the University’s Building Materials Research Institute, noted that obtaining a patent for this method is an important step in the field of scientific development. He emphasized that the developed method allows shortening the production time and provides the opportunity for import substitution.
The new luminescent coatings can be used in various fields, including road construction for various markings and the electronics industry for the production of semiconductor devices.
