“I think we will be able to receive about 2.5 million Russians every year,” the official said, according to RIA.
According to Elkadi, 1.4 million Russian tourists visited Egypt in 2023. The head of ETA believes that the African country can become an attractive destination for Russians, especially in winter, due to the price-quality relationship of the services.
As Dmitry Gorin, vice president of the Russian Union of the Travel Industry, said, the flow of tourists from Russia to Egypt may increase by 10-15% this year, but the final dynamics will depend on exchange rates, banknotes plane and other factors.
Elkadi also added that Egypt could become a logistics center for Russian tourists in Africa. However, local infrastructure still needs to be transformed to achieve this goal.
