Russian marketplaces have begun to warn about customs duties when ordering goods worth more than 200 euros.
For example, an iPhone 15 with 128 GB (version from China) costs 69,234 rubles on Ozon. The duty on it is ~8413 rubles. The total amount for the buyer was 77,647 rubles.
The Sony PlayStation 5 Slim game console costs 48,290 rubles on Yandex Market if you order it from abroad. The customs fee turns out to be ~5333 rubles, in the end the buyer will pay 53,623 rubles.
The duty on a Nothing phone (2a) worth 36,770 rubles will be ~3,398 rubles. Thus, the purchase will cost 40,168 rubles.
The approximate customs fee is shown under the price in the product card. It is 15% of the excess amount or 2 euros for each kilogram of excess (parcels up to 31 kg can be transported free of charge). Additional services include customs duty (500 rubles) and broker commission.
The final amount may change, since the payment is calculated in euros, and its final cost depends on the ruble exchange rate.
The duty is paid separately at the customs clearance stage. The account you carry is transported by a broker, whose role is the company or its representative. Companies that can send a request for customs payment:
▪️ Tanais
▪️ CEL Logistics
▪️ GBS
▪️ Unitrade
▪️ Russian Post
To clear customs, you must fill out your passport details and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) in the marketplace.
