The decision to sell the company was made due to divergent views of the co-owners on its development and a decline in net profit against a backdrop of rising marketing costs.
Experts believe that partnering with a large distributor can improve brand awareness. However, there are two more candidates for Kuppersberg; The publication’s interlocutor did not name them.
Merlion is already actively developing its own electronics brands, such as Digma and Hyundai. In March 2024, the distributor registered the trademark for its own SSD drives, power supplies and computer cases. The components will be produced in China. The company intends to sell them at retail.
According to SPARK-Interfax, Merlion LLC’s revenue in 2022 amounted to 192 billion rubles, net profit – 2.3 billion rubles.
