It will make life even more difficult for computer owners who do not have a licensed version of the operating system.
The essence of the function is to block the settings of the Microsoft Edge browser for users of non-activated Windows 11. In this case, using the browser will become less convenient: most of its functions will not be available.
This is probably how Microsoft wants to encourage users to buy licenses, which unfortunately is a big problem in Russia.
Many people online have already expressed their dissatisfaction with this decision, rightly stating that it is unlikely to lead to the desired result. Most likely people will stop using Edge and switch to Chrome or other browsers rather than purchasing a license.
The Edge settings locking feature is already available in the Canary build of Windows 11. Nothing is yet known about the timing of its appearance in the stable version of the operating system. There was no official statement from Microsoft regarding this issue.
