WhatsApp for iPhone gets its biggest design change in years

After several months of working on this, whatsapp does something small but important changing the design of your iPhone app which may not please many users. The Meta-owned messaging platform has started changing the color of some of its interface elements.

In particular, WhatsApp began to replace the blue tint we saw on some buttons due to the green that is so characteristic of the app logo. This new product is nothing more than a small change aimed at strengthening the corporate identity of the company, since WhatsApp has always been associated with the color green. However, it will likely take some time for many users to get used to it, especially since the blue tone has been present in the iPhone app for many years.

Unfortunately for those who prefer blue, There is no way to undo this change or select a different shade. So once Meta updates your app, the colors in elements like the one that shows the number of unread messages in chat and buttons like start chat or send message will turn green.

The new product is already available in the final version of WhatsApp, although the platform Implemented in stages. This means that it may take several days or even weeks to reach all users. However, it is important that you have the latest WhatsApp update installed on your iPhone to get the changes as soon as possible.

Other WhatsApp design changes

In parallel, WhatsApp is also making corresponding changes to the way you view messages on your computer. The messaging platform has started enabling so-called chat filters with a new top menu that will allow you to navigate between three different tabs.

Shown here is the section with all chats, including groups. There is also a tab groups, where only the groups you belong to will be shown. The third tab, called ‘Do not read’will collect only those chats, both individual and group, that you have not opened.

Just like the new design of WhatsApp for iPhone, the new chat filters are now available to everyone, although they will be expanded gradually. Finally, for Android users, the platform is also changing the location of the navigation menu, which is now located at the bottom of the screen.
