American developer and publisher of computer games Valve introduced Counter-Strike 2, now the company is conducting a closed beta test.

Counter-Strike is a first person team shooter game series. There are games in the series with multiplayer and story-based games without multiplayer. In 2012, the studio released Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) on the Source engine.

Today, Valve positions Counter-Strike 2 as a free update to CS:GO and encourages fans to gear up. The game will be available in summer.

Announcing the launch of the product, the studio talked about some of the changes that await players. For example, the new smoke effect, which now interacts with other elements in the game. The studio also showed a video dedicated to the updated gameplay.

Valve was founded in 1996 by Gabe Newell and Michael Harrington in the United States. During its existence, the studio has introduced such games as Half-Life, Portal, Dota-2. The company also provides support for the Steam online gaming service.

In the fall, the Polish developer CD Project RED announced several new projects at once, including the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. In addition, the company decided to release a remake of the first The Witcher.
