The most purchased games by players in the first quarter were Helldivers 2, Baldur’s Gate 3 and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. Emma Yusova, CEO of online game development school XYZ School (part of Ultimate Education), told Vedomosti.
According to the expert, at the beginning of each year there is a notable increase in the demand for video games among the video game audience. This is due to the increase in player activity during the January holidays, as well as the appearance of free funds thanks to annual bonuses and other payments. Additionally, many people receive video games as gifts on February 23 and March 8.
Previously, Russia proposed creating a registry of imported video games. The measure will strengthen the fight against counterfeiting. The list will include all distributors of game titles “approved primarily in terms of content.”
