These companies’ access to large genetic databases raises concerns about the potential use of this information to target individuals or ethnic groups based on their genetic profiles.
In addition, parliamentarians have expressed concern that China could use gene editing to improve the physical and mental abilities of its soldiers or create viruses for biological warfare purposes.
