When you scan the barcode at the cash register, the system checks the product in the database. If violations such as delay or lack of legal marking are detected, the sale will be blocked. The system works for both regular payments and self-service payments.

According to Revaz Yusupov, Deputy Director General of CRPT (operator of the “Honest Sign” system), this measure not only protects buyers, but also helps the supervisory authorities. If a store tries to sell expired or illegal goods, information about it is transmitted to Rospotrebnadzor for verification. Starting September 1, 2024, this rule will apply to all retail sales.

Large retail chains such as Magnit and Lenta have already implemented the Honest Sign system and do not experience any problems with its operation. According to Lenta representatives, the system does not affect the speed of customer service and allows you to optimize business processes.

The “Honest Brand” system is part of the state product labeling system designed to protect consumers from counterfeit and low-quality products.
