This is a modified version of the Spot Mini model, it is “dressed” in dog hair and its head resembles a real dog. Overall, Sparkles looks like a big, fluffy dog.
According to Boston Dynamics, Sparkles is a robotic dog model designed for experimentation, art and entertainment. In the video published on Boston Dynamics’ official YouTube channel, it is seen how two robots named Sparkles and Spot Mini recognize each other, touch their noses and dance simultaneously.
For this purpose, a tool for creating and controlling movements to the Choreographer’s music was incorporated into the robots’ software.
