At the same time, Apple service centers continue to operate, for example, six repair services of the manufacturer operate in Moscow, writes Vedomosti.

According to Eldar Murtazin, analyst at Mobile Research Group, original components have been disappearing from official service centers since last summer. Now only one of the centers can repair corporate equipment, but it cannot be said that it does so with Apple’s permission, says the expert. He explained that, as a rule, these services import Chinese kits to Russia or dismantle old devices.

The publication’s interlocutor notes that the status of Apple’s ASC is unclear. Once upon a time, these centers received permission from the manufacturer, but now it is unknown whether it remains. He believes that now these centers are not much different from the stalls at the Mitinsky market, located on the outskirts of Moscow.

Another source notes that in the Russian repair market it has become common practice to use spare parts from other devices. Some participants have even established spare parts supplies from the CIS and transport goods to these countries for maintenance.

  • Apple stopped selling in Russia in March 2022. The Russian legal entity Apple reported a 23-fold drop in revenue in 2023. The organization’s net loss amounted to approximately 1 billion rubles, the same amount the company paid to the Russian budget in the form of a fine for violating antimonopoly legislation.
