A new Government icon featuring a building will appear in the main app feed, search results, and select app pages.
It will be located next to the app’s rating, and when you click on it, the following message will appear: “Government Authority – Play has confirmed that this app is affiliated with a government agency.”
This badge will be awarded to official government and federal government applicants in countries such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
In the US, such applications include applications developed by NASA, FEMA, and IRS2Go, as well as various utility services, voting, identification, and parking tools. Currently, more than 3,000 official applications have received this badge.
