These companies have limited experience with ARM architecture, but their efforts signal a shift toward ARM-based processors for consumer devices. Nvidia and AMD plan to target consumer devices rather than enterprise devices and will ensure their ARM chips support Windows.

However, since existing x86 code does not run directly on ARM, this transition brings challenges such as compatibility issues. Emulators and ports will be required, but both Nvidia and AMD have the resources and experience to meet these challenges.

Meanwhile, SiFive, a major player in the RISC-V processor market, laid off about 20% of its staff, including experienced engineers. SiFive participated in the development of the open RISC-V architecture and offered commercial solutions based on RISC-V. While the company remains financially strong, talent loss is a concern for the industry as a whole.
