On May 1, a law came into force in Russia allowing up to 30 million rubles to be transferred per month between accounts of different banks without commission through the SBP. This can be used by clients of 200 banks, including Sberbank.

However, from the conditions of Sberbank it follows that the maximum limit of transactions that a client can make in the organization’s mobile banking is 2 million rubles per day.

At the same time, clients can transfer only 1 million rubles per day through the SBP; transfer of another million rubles is available per account number. As a technical support representative explained to RBC, the limit will reset a day after it runs out.

“Sberbank Online has long had a limit for all types of transactions, which can amount to 1 or 2 million rubles. per day. These measures are aimed at the bank’s compliance with legal requirements and are an element of a system to minimize a number of risks, including the risk of fraud. The client can make transfers above the current limits through other channels,” explained a representative of the organization.

The Bank of Russia, in turn, told the publication that they intend to monitor the implementation of the law that came into force. The regulator clarified that restrictions can only be set within 30 million rubles per month.

In fact, the limit for one operation through SBP is limited to 1 million rubles, but the user can carry out several such operations.
