Altman compared the ideal use of AI to “a super-talented colleague who knows everything about my life, every email, every conversation I have.” He emphasized that such artificial intelligence should not feel like an extension of oneself.
During his visit to Harvard, Altman called the current ChatGPT “incredibly stupid” but promised that the next version, GPT-5, would be much smarter. He expressed admiration for AI’s ability to improve in every aspect simultaneously, calling it “a true miracle.”
