Owners of the new iPad Pro screen are reporting on Reddit and the MacRumors forum that the tablets are grainy.

The problem is usually noticeable in low-light conditions, when the tablet’s brightness is at minimum or slightly below average, and when viewing content with gray or dull colors. The effect is similar to a photograph that has noise due to a high ISO.

Most of the complaints come from users of the 11-inch iPad Pro, although there are a few reports from owners of the 13-inch version.

According to unconfirmed information, the display for the 11-inch iPad Pro is provided by LG, and for models with a 13-inch display – Samsung.

At this point, the difficult question is whether this problem is software or hardware, and whether it is truly a manufacturing defect.

In some cases, OLED displays may have a slight graininess. For example, on large diagonals, when turning on uniform colors and in low light conditions. This happens because the subpixels in OLED screens have different shapes, sizes, and brightnesses.

A clear answer to this question can only be given by Apple, which has not yet responded to user complaints.
