Russian brands have quite successfully imitated Western names from the past. According to the vice president of the Union of Shopping Centers, Pavel Lyulin, the Russians were never able to replace some concepts: Ikea or Uniqlo could not be repeated. While, for example, with Zara and Bershka, on the contrary, they were replaced quite well by the Russian brands Melon Fashion Group.
The replacement affected traffic growth and average control. Shopping center traffic this year has already recovered to the level that was relevant even before 2022. However, it has not yet been possible to reach pre-Covid attendance levels.
