A survey conducted by CIRP among new iPad buyers who had upgraded from another iPad showed a significant increase in the age of their previous device. Last year, nearly two-thirds of buyers kept their old iPads for two years or more; this rate rises to nearly half in 2022. This points to a growing trend for iPad owners to use their tablets for longer periods of time; This is probably a reflection of the increased “durability and performance” of older models or “economic concerns”.
It will be interesting to see whether this trend continues or whether the new features and capabilities of recently introduced iPads will encourage more frequent updates.
