The Ministry of Economic Development (MINEK) is investigating the possibility of conducting an experiment to anonymize citizens’ personal data. This was made possible due to huge efforts from businesses who sought to share such data despite government concerns.
The Ministry of Economic Development is cooperating with relevant structures to study the use of experimental legal regimes (EPR) to test technologies for personalization of personal data of Russians. The initiative was supported by large companies such as Yandex, VK, Sberbank and others, which proposed creating a secure technological infrastructure for data processing.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy expressed support for the idea of experimentation, considering it an important step in the development of safe methods for working with data. This will allow us to assess the risks and effectiveness of data anonymization methods and develop legal mechanisms to protect them.
