VK has decided to close the ICQ instant messaging service. The indefinite suspension of his work is indicated in a VK message.
ICQ employees will be part of the teams of the VK Messenger and VK Workspace services, on whose work VK has decided to focus.
ICQ became part of VK in 2010 as a result of the reorganization of the DST fund, which bought ICQ in 2010 for $187.5 million.
VK relaunched ICQ in 2020, adding the quick replies feature and bot creation. It was later reported that there were plans to restart the service again.
