Excel This is one of the most powerful Office tools, but you can use it you must know the necessary formulas and techniques. This isn’t a problem for veterans of the app, but it does pose a barrier to entry for new users. Microsoft wants to change perceptions and it will rely on artificial intelligence to achieve this goal.
Technological will use Copilot integration to provide assistance to the user. According to the Microsoft 365 roadmap post, Excel will get a new feature called Chat Assistant. The description states that customers will be able to ask Copilot for help and get more conversational answers.
“For example, a client may ask how to complete a task, and the co-pilot will respond with helpful steps, which may include formulas to copy and use“says Microsoft. “In some cases, Copilot can explain the formula error and provide a corrected formula, as well as additional guidance to make sure the formula works correctly.”
There will be a chat assistant Available globally in all versions of Excel., including desktop clients for Windows, Mac, Web, and iPhone. Microsoft hasn’t mentioned an Android app, so integration may come later. This feature will be available from June to all Microsoft 365 (Office 365) subscribers with Copilot Pro.
Microsoft wants to bring its AI to all services, and Excel will be next
While the announcement of an AI feature in Excel doesn’t come as a surprise, some users are wondering if it’s necessary. Having invested billions of dollars in OpenAI, Microsoft wants to become the leading company in the field of artificial intelligence services. The most recent test took place earlier this week when the tech giant unveiled its new Copilot+ PC and Recall feature for Windows 11.
A year ago, Microsoft announced plans to equip its office suite with artificial intelligence using Copilot. When Excelassistant will help you analyze data from the table, suggest trends and build graphs to better understand this. Copilot will also be able to create statistical models in an offline work environment by asking questions in natural language.
If you are an Excel user and want to take advantage of this feature, we have bad news. Copilot integration with Office applications only available through Copilot Proadditional paid subscription to Microsoft 365.
Those who pay for both will be able to access the chat assistant starting in June 2024, but others will have to learn the old way: using the F1 key or using a Google search.
