The countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization signed a joint action plan in the field of tourism for the next two years. The document was agreed upon after a meeting of the heads of tourism administrations of the SCO member states.

It contains activities that will help train staff and assist in the promotion of tourism products. We have paid attention to the issue of simplifying visa procedures and increasing the security of tourist travel. The Ministry of Economic Development spoke about this.
At the meeting the participants talked about the development of tourism potential, the introduction of electronic visas and the expansion of air traffic.
“The SCO countries need their own tourism forum, which will allow members of the tourism community to exchange experiences in the field of standardization and regulation of the tourism industry,” Deputy Minister Vladimir Ilyichev noted at the meeting.
He added that it is important to coordinate plans for the development of marketing campaigns. The total tourist flow between Russia and the SCO countries in 2023 increased by 47% and reached more than 9 million trips, the department added.
We previously wrote that an Association of Tourist Aggregators will be created in Russia. The objective of the new organization will be to support initiatives and best practices for the development of the industry.
