Raptor 2’s engine runs on oxygen and methane. During the test run, the valves leaked, causing an explosion. At the same time, since the Raptor is designed for flights to the Moon and Mars, it is advertised as engines with increased body strength and high quality of all components.
The test launch showed that equipment needs to be improved – Raptor 2 is used on both stages of the Starhip spacecraft. At the same time, there is very little time left for the fourth flight: the launch will be held on June 5.
