There’s just over a month left until the end 2024 Olympic Games in Paris The event promises more than 15 million visitors to the French capital, which will require greater mobility and tourist accommodation efforts from the city.
And one of the technology companies that is preparing for this event is Uberwhich announced it would offer free rides on the Seine in July based on the experience of Uber Cruises.
Specifically, “Uber Cruises” will be offered free from July 12 to August 3, and customers will also be able to book a day trip with champagne tasting through the launch of “Uber Bubbles.”
Uber also plans to make “significant” investments in incentives and discounts for passengers.
Uber’s efforts in Paris will include continuously updated maps and routes in the app for drivers to highlight restricted areas and road closures, as well as dedicated drop-off and pick-up zones within the app.
The company is also adding more than 130 new Uber Access vehicles to its platform.
The company said its “app is also approved for use throughout Paris, with the Prefecture of Police giving Uber drivers access to the most restricted areas of the city.”
While dynamic pricing will be used during the Olympics, Uber will offer special offers to passengers in key locations such as Paris airports and train stations, where almost one million people are expected to travel with Uber.
Uber offers drivers “promotions” such as extra pay for completed trips that start in certain areas for a certain period of time.
