Traditional thermal energy harvesting materials are bulky and not always suitable for low temperatures. Researchers from Okayama University proposed the use of flexible CNT yarns doped (enriched) with a special composition.

During the research, scientists created p-type (positively charged) and n-type (negatively charged) filaments. This combination allows you to collect thermal energy more efficiently. The new technology will make it possible to create flexible thermoelectric devices, for example, for heated clothing or health sensors.

This development will not only save energy by using previously wasted heat, but will also provide a local power source for small electronic devices such as Internet of Things sensors.
