According to them, it does not participate in operational activities and its “role is more of coordination and advice.” This is a technical position, said the publication’s interlocutors.

CTF is the structure through which the Alfa Group owns the X5 Group (Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Chizhik). In spring, the shareholders of the X5 Group included Alexey Korn on the company’s supervisory board, but at that time it was not reported about his work in the structures of the Alfa Group.

Alexey Kornya was President of MTS in 2018-2021. During his leadership, the company’s revenue increased by 12%, at the end of 2020 it amounted to 494.9 billion rubles. His departure from MTS was associated with a change in the company’s strategy. They offered him the position of first vice president of AFK Sistema, the main owner of MTS, but he rejected it.

In January 2022, Kornya was appointed CEO of retail chain Magnit. There he was involved in digital transformation and the development of digital services for clients. However, Kornya resigned from the company’s board of directors at the end of that year.
