According to Kinsler, such a proposal, and indeed an order, was received by Slingshot Aerospace from the U.S. Department of Defense’s Advanced Research and Development Authority. This company develops software to calculate the orbit of any spacecraft, including satellites. In this way, the company can track its reconnaissance vehicles.
Kinsler said that their software made it possible to learn in 2015 that the allegedly Russian reconnaissance satellite Luch came within 10 km of the American spy Intelsat.
