According to Ilya Balanin, head of the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund, the use of artificial intelligence can improve the quality of medical care, make the diagnostic process faster and more accurate, as well as help predict diseases and determine the most effective treatment.
Medical decision support systems based on artificial intelligence are already actively used to analyze mammographic images to identify pathologies. The head of the Federal Compulsory Health Insurance Fund stated that chest fluorography and brain computed tomography are now being considered to be included in the compulsory health insurance system.
Since the beginning of 2024, more than 300 thousand studies have been carried out using artificial intelligence.
