A British man who cheated on his wife for years sued Apple after his wife saw the correspondence.

Richard (not his real name) spent years communicating with prostitutes and organizing meetings via iMessage during his marriage. Then he immediately deleted the correspondence, hoping that his wife would not notice them.

However, one day the wife opened iMessage on her iMac (her husband’s Apple ID was applied to the computer) and saw that the last message was addressed to another girl. She also found deleted messages dating back several years in the app. A month later she filed for divorce.

During the divorce, Richard lost more than 5 million pounds sterling (~563 million rubles). He hopes to recover this money from Apple.

Wiske the man claims that the company does not send messages to customers, that iMessages delivered to iPhone devices can be seen on Apple devices, even if they have been deleted on the phone.

All this is very difficult and has not yet been overcome. It was a very cruel way to find out everything [для моей жены]. I think if I could talk to her intelligently and she didn’t realize it was so cruel, I might still be married.

Richard

To file a claim, the man contacted the Rosenblatt law firm. They tried to contact Apple and their lawyers, but all requests were ignored. [The Times]
