Unknown individuals attempted to carry out a massive DDoS attack against the infrastructure of the National Payment Card System, operator of the Mir payment system. This was stated by the press service of the NSPK, Kommersant reports.
On Thursday, June 20, users reported a massive outage in the Mir system, according to data from Downdetector. There were difficulties in making payments and settlements through the Faster Payment System (FPS). The latter’s operation has already been restored, the NSPK noted.
According to Downdetector, failures also occurred in the services of VTB Bank, Sberbank, several telecommunications operators, instant messengers and social networks.
