Airships can carry the equivalent of three to four gondola cars of cargo at a time, making them closer in cost to rail transport but at twice the delivery speed. Kostikov also noted plans to include this project in the program “Clean Coal – Green Kuzbass”.
Experts discussed the potential for airships in other sectors, such as the fuel and energy complex, where they could reduce equipment downtime and reduce the cost of multimodal transportation. Calculations showed that the development of new airships would cost about 38 billion rubles.
