According to data from S&P Global Mobility, in March 2024 there were 96,385 electric vehicles registered worldwide. This is almost 4% more than the same period last year. At the same time, the share of new registrations exceeded 7% of the total number of cars. This is bigger than in 2023.

We also see that Tesla cars are still market leaders, but they are losing share. In March 2024, 50,474 Tesla electric vehicles were registered, 12% less than last year.

The most affected was the Tesla Model 3. It is preferred by 61% fewer buyers. We would like to add that the downward trend in sales of this particular model has continued for five months in a row.

We previously wrote that Elon Musk’s Tesla will not release the updated Model Y in 2024. This is due to a decline in buyer interest in expensive cars. He himself spoke about it on social networks.
