Apple is in talks with Chinese AI developers such as Baidu, Alibaba and Baichuan AI, but regulatory approval remains a major hurdle.
The urgency of the problem is also underlined by Apple’s declining share of the Chinese market, where Huawei and other rivals are increasingly gaining ground. While Apple CFO Luca Maestri remains optimistic about the company’s future, rising Chinese patriotism and regulatory concerns pose a major threat to Apple.
