Apple’s senior vice president of operations, Sabih Khan, has introduced job cuts on the lines, finally cutting iPhone assembly by 50% over the next few years.

To achieve this goal, Apple has resumed factory automation projects that had been put on hold due to high costs. However, Apple robots can cost millions of dollars, and many manufacturing partners are not willing to make that kind of investment.

Using robots will allow Apple to move production faster, produce more smartphones, and not protect jobs.
