Apple faces a fine of up to 10% of its total global revenue for violating the EU digital markets law. This is stated in the message from the European Commission.

The European Commission surprised Apple by imposing its conditions on third-party developers. They face obstacles in the free promotion of alternative channels, the European Commission noted.

Although Apple introduced incentives for developers after the adoption of the EU Digital Markets Law in 2022, there are still restrictions for them, which constitutes a violation of the law.

The European Commission has given Apple until March 2025 to respond to the charges. The company faces a fine of up to $38 billion, or 10% of its global revenue. If you break the law again, the fine will be up to 20% of your income.
