Rospatent announced the first increase in trademark registration fees in five years. Its size will increase by 70%, as can be seen from the document published on the legal acts portal.
In addition to the increase in the duty, the procedure for its calculation will be modified. At the moment, for example, the fee for registering a trademark in an ICGS class is 21.7 thousand rubles (including discounts, according to the new rules the fee will increase to 35 thousand rubles); The price of the registration fee for a trademark in five classes of the ICTU will increase from the current 28.7 thousand rubles to 49 thousand rubles.
In addition, the 30% discount on fees for electronic submission of applications will be cancelled and the grace period for payment of fees will be cancelled. The penalty for late payment of fees will also be increased from 50% to 100%.
Currently, the document is under review under the regulatory impact assessment procedure. The Russian government will soon begin considering the project.
