DocsInBox (the Russian legal entity Docsinbox LLC), which develops a work automation system for restaurants and cafes, received 10.83% of the geomarketing service Pointer LLC, RB.RU has learned.

Previously, the share belonged to the ISLA fund (Isla LLC), owned by TilTech JSC, Vladimir Trembovolsky and Alexey Baboshin, as follows from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. The founders of Pointer LLC, Artem Efremov, Olga Bolotova and Maria Niggol, retained their shares in the company.

The parties to the agreement declined to comment. A source familiar with the situation told RB.RU that Pointer is the third largest in the geomarketing market for networks.

“The largest players in the market for this type of service are RocketData (manages data from more than 190 thousand customer branches), Pinbox (100 thousand branch cards) and Pointer (serves 95 thousand customer branches),” explained the company. fountain.

Local marketing services are especially relevant for large companies with a large number of branches (stores or points of sale), depending on the source.

“These services allow you to manage different company profiles on maps and respond to reviews from a personal account using the one-stop shop principle. That is, the company does not have to log in to different accounts and saves time,” explained the expert.

The major players in the market have similar functionality, but some have more capabilities, for example more integrations with review sites and geoservices.

“The more sources of this type there are on the platform, the better for the client; This way you will be able to cover the maximum number of sites where reviews are written about it. For example, RocketData has more than 100 such sources,” the source clarified.

Pointer has already attracted the attention of venture investors twice.

  • In 2021, the QVentures venture fund acquired 10.5% of Pointer and invested 40 million rubles in the company. Two years later, the founders bought out the fund.
  • In January 2020, Pointer attracted investments worth 10 million rubles from the ISLA fund. Thanks to the round, the company showed 3.5x growth in revenue and 2.5x growth in ARR at the end of 2020, writes RB.RU.

The company has shown good results over the past year. Pointer’s revenue in 2023 increased 1.5 times to 166.2 million rubles, and net profit – 2.4 times to 39.2 million rubles. The company offers its clients to publish information on Yandex Maps, Google Maps, 2GIS, Zoon and other platforms, collect map reviews, site and store reviews in one feed, manage reputation and increase the number of customers. Pointer’s website states that Vkusville, Four Paws, Gemotest, Sportmaster and others are already working with it. Pointer and DocsInBox have a common client – Dodo Pizza. RB.RU sent a request to the pizza chain.

DocsInBox actively invests in development. In April the company raised funding worth $500,000 from anonymous investors for development in the United Arab Emirates. The company was to use the funds to expand e-invoicing and purchasing platform capabilities in the HoReCa segment in the UAE to reduce manual work by 15%. Also in December the company raised 30 million rubles as a subsidy from the Innovation Promotion Fund. In June, the company estimated the launch of an artificial intelligence solution to reconcile items in restaurants for this amount.
